Trett Digest Volume 15

I closed off my last digest with a YouTube video from Island of Pag in Croatia, which was where I spent a week with my boys away from the felt in the middle of July. Here are a few pictures from my visit;

My facebook friends can check out the full album, over on my facebook profile if your interested. The weekend I returned to the UK it was ladies day over at Gosforth racecourse, so I hit that up with the same guys ending up in Genting casino until around 04:00 on Sunday morning. Again, below a few photos taken from ladies day;

During ladies day I spoke with one my best friends Gary Sidney (who is a personal trainer), about my weight and general health and as a result the following day I decided to be proactive about the discussion and get in touch with him. I've been working closely with him over the last fortnight to help improve both my fitness and diet, although a very small sample on Sunday 29th July I weighed 91.5kg and after a week of dedicated exercise and healthy eating I weighed 86kg on Sunday 5th August. It feels really good to type that, Gary has filled me with a sense of awareness and given me so much motivation to get in shape. I've been attending his boot-camp classes three times per a week and running around one mile most mornings and evenings, this training together with a great diet has got me off to a great start and I only hope my dedication and motivation is prolonged. I will weigh-in every TDV for anybody interested to follow my progress, hopefully my weight keeps heading south.

This I guess has had an effect on my performance at the tables (feel great, play great), as since I began training I have played twice on a Friday night (£3,000GTD) and played the £5,000GTD on the opening Tuesday of August (all £50 tournaments), making three final tables for around £800 profit but unfortunately keep falling short as I've finished fifth twice and seventh. I'm really excited about the UKIPT visiting Newcastle next month, I've sold 50% of my action at face value and looking to play pretty much the full schedule with the exception of the high roller and pot limit omaha tournaments. Check out my schedule below;

As mentioned I sold 50% of my action, keeping 50% (£830) for myself. Big thanks to the guys over the NPF who have shown me there support;

Mag1895: 5% (£83)
Scoop: 5% (£83)
Archie: 5% (£83)
Mulhuzz: 5% (£83)
Camel Toe: 5% (£83)
Fatpants: 5% (£83)
Teamdobb: 5% (£83)
Mark Trett: 5% (£83)
Mr Daz: 5% (£83)
Rosi: 5% (£83)

I hope with a spread of six games I can repay your support with a sweat and hopefully a profit. Still trying to keep myself busy away from poker and drinking I've had a number of great days out with the poker boys, usually involving a spot of miniature golf and yesterday (Thursday 9th August) Colin (Taylor), Mark (Mealyea), John (Kirsopp), and I took a road trip to Seahouses for the day which was a nice day out with great weather. Filling up the evenings nicely too as I've been going to some nice restaurants quite regular and fortnightly visits to the cinema, again with the usual suspects all of which make a pleasant change from clay chips and pint/shot glasses.

Back to the felt tomorrow afternoon (Saturday 11th August) though in the name of charity as NPF affiliate Beth “BethK” Kirton (daughter to radgie Koyte), is hosting a £10 rebuy over at Genting casino for pancreatic cancer. This should be a fantastic day with a buffet, raffle, trophy and seemingly the whole of the NPF turning out to support the event, being for charity I'm sure it'll be played in merry spirits but of course with all poker players their nature is to be competitive whatever the occasion.

Finally I'm off to Benidorm a week on Tuesday (21st August), for a week of sun, sea, sand, and sangria with my Dad, and both my Uncles (Paul and Kevin). Which although I won't be hitting it as hard as when I was in Croatia with the lads last month, still nice to get away to a warmer climate if only for a week. It'll be my first visit to Benidorm so as well obviously the bars and clubs, I'm looking forward to eating at some nice restaurants, playing some cash (maybe tournaments) over at Casino Mediterráneo with the Spanish, and for sure looking to get involved in all the daytime activities including Terra Mitica Fun Park, Aqualandia, Mundomar, Terra Natura, Aqua Natura. Obviously only in town for one week so time constraints may stop me doing all of the above, but whatever I'll try my best.
